It gives me much pleasure and honour to provide this testimonial for Mr Oscar Tamsen for his journalistic pursuits in the interests of public knowledge and information.

Since moving to Yamba in August 2023 I have read with pleasure many of Mr Tamsen’s articles in the local Clarence Valley Independent. I have enjoyed how Mr Tamsen presents facts and information in an easily read and palatable manner. He has a very engaging style which keeps the reader interested in the content of the whole article.

The contents of his wide-ranging articles are at times very thought-provoking, and even controversial. Whichever way one views them, they are well-measured and very balanced.

I feel confident that Mr Tamsen’s articles add substantially to public information and discourse. As such, they encourage questioning, discussion, and debate about contentious and topical matters. Isn’t this part of the role that effective professional journalists should play?

Invariably I come away from his articles thinking that he has added to my knowledge and information. At times he has also provided me with a different perspective on a particular topic, which I appreciate.
