Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions next week near the northbound rest area on the Pacific Highway at Tyagarah to carry out important maintenance work.
During this work the rest area, located about 36 kilometres north of Ballina, will be closed to all motorists including heavy and oversized vehicles.
Work to remove sections of concrete paving and replace with new pavement will be carried out from Monday 1 February to Thursday 4 February, weather permitting.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists in the vicinity of these works.
Alternative rest areas are available at Yelgun, Sleepy Hollow and at the Chinderah service centre.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
