Temporary closure of McPhersons Crossing Road

McPhersons Crossing Road near Coutts Crossing will be closed to traffic for up to 12 weeks to allow for an upgrade to the intersection with Armidale Road.

Senior projects engineer, Alan Dunne, said the closure would allow council crews to complete the upgrade works efficiently and safely.

“The temporary closure provides best value for money for ratepayers, and the upgraded road will be safer for road users,” he said.

“Intersection upgrade works will include a designated turning lane into McPhersons Crossing for the northbound traffic.

“Drivers should take care and respect the local residents by driving to road conditions, in particular on the gravel roads, Ellis and Braunstone roads.” Electronic message boards will be installed to keep road users and residents up to date with progress.
