Tartan Brushy RSL Day Club

Tartan Brushy meetings have been cancelled until Tuesday April 21 and there will be a volunteers meeting on April 14 at the hall.

Unfortunately our 18th Birthday has been postponed. In the meantime look after yourselves and follow the health procedures.

Here is a summary of recent meetings:

There was a good attendance on February 18 to listen to David Bailey and Jim Morrison.

Mareeba joined us and the 101 year old enjoyed her dancing.

February 25 was a busy day, we celebrated Shrove Tuesday and Glad conducted a pan cake tossing completion. Thanks for all who took part and to Wendy for making the pancakes. Country Ramblers played for us and also tossed a few pancakes. United Life Care joined us for the day. The trading table was well supported and monthly birthdays were celebrated.

On March 3 we were entertained by the Grafton Ukes, a great morning and a happy fun group!

It was a full hall on March 10 and Anne Gray’s U3 choir sang for us and it was such a lovely morning of song. Thanks to you all.

We congratulate Iluka Day Club on their 10th Birthday to which two of our volunteers were invited and by all accounts it was a great day.

At latest meeting we celebrated St Patrick’s Day with ‘Full Circle’ entertaining us, in spite of numbers being down it was an happy and enjoyable day. There were lots of Irish jokes and members turned up in their green and the hall was decorated with an Irish theme.

Congratulations to our kitchen staff for the wonderful meals they have produced.

We have several new members who are warmly welcomed and we hope they enjoyed their time with us. The new pick-up from Townsend is going well and we hope this can be continued.

See you all on Tuesday April 21 (as far as we know).

For all enquires please contact Jenny Blanch on 0488 494 949 or Trish York on 6644 8165.

New members and entertainers are always welcome.
