April meetings ended with a visit from Yamba Life Care and we had the trading table and our monthly birthday cake. The ‘Country Ramblers’ gave us a great morning of music.
We celebrated Mothers Day remembering mothers past and present. Peter Johnson entertained us with easy to listen to songs. A delicious lunch and dessert was enjoyed and Wendy’s jam and cream sponge was to die for. We had lovely chrysanthemums and roses decorating the tables, thank you all.
Glad gave some interesting facts about Mothers Day saying that Rhea was the mother of the Gods and that red and white carnations were the traditional Mothers Day flower. But white chrysanthemums seemed to be popular too. We had some quotes that mothers used to say, and a poem was read. Photos of member’s mothers were displayed and members shared their memories. We hope you all had a good Mother’s Day; a special thanks to Carol who made the beautiful bookmarks which were given to each member.
On May 14 we had a full hall to meet the ‘Grafton Ukes’ and we had a great morning of music.
We wish Marja a wonderful trip touring Western Australia and we shall miss her during few weeks.
We all enjoyed our trip to Brooms Head; a glorious day and a delicious lunch. Thanks to all who made the day so enjoyable.
