Tartan Brushy R.S.L Day Club

There was a good attendance for our first meeting of the month. The Ulmarra Rural Fire Brigade gave a very informative presentation of bush fire survival and handed out a survival kit to each member, which we were all urged to study and keep in a safe place. Questions were answered and this was followed by a fire drill evacuation. It was suggested that we have a site plan drawn and a sign made showing the Assembly area.

A delicious fish and chip lunch followed.

A minutes silence was held for one of our members.

Welcome back to Marja and thanks to all who have kept the kitchen going in her absence.

Bill Kearns entertained us in his own special way with his bush poetry.

Narelle Want from Wesley Services came to speak to us about services which were available to us. Some members were a bit confused but we were advised to study the literature and use the contact numbers.

Our next meeting was in House and we had a good time with lots of fun games and activities, the favourite was ‘pass the parcel’ which included some lovely prizes.

Our loving thoughts went out to Jean Kratz for her 101st birthday. Notes and cards were delivered to her together with a floral arrangement.

A volunteers meeting was held and due to the Covid restrictions we have been advised to stay closed until at least August. So our Christmas in July lunch at the Maclean Bowling club was cancelled. We will decide and advise of our reopening by August.
