Summerland Way project delivered on time and under budget

Work to improve and strengthen a section of the Summerland Way at Dilkoon, about 30 kilometres north of Grafton, has been delivered on time and well under budget. Member for Clarence, Chris Gulaptis said the NSW Government funded $550,000 for Roads and Maritime Services to carry out the essential maintenance work. “The project team was able to complete the work with minimal difficulties, meaning the five-week project was delivered on time and about $300,000 under budget,” Mr Gulaptis said. “Due to poor drainage this 300m stretch of the Summerland Way was often susceptible to potholing. “To address the drainage and surface issues, the road’s height was raised, improved drainage was installed and the road was widened. “As well as delivering this project, the crew was also tasked with carrying out emergency work on another highway during the recent wet weather.” Roads and Maritime thanks residents and motorists for their patience during this essential road safety upgrade.
