Sue Scott takes Yamba Wednesday golf

Last Wednesday April 21 was a perfect day for our monthly medal.

Results

Div 1 was decided on countback between Suzanne Scott and Leigh Robertson. Sue was declared winner (76pts c/b) with Leigh the r/up. Sue was also the gross winner (91), and Ann Groom won the Div 1 and overall putting with 28.

In Div 2, Gwynne Thomas won with a great score of 73 ahead of Alison Caller (74) who returned last week after a lengthy break. Alison was also the gross winner (102) while Julie Campbell posted 31 putts to win.

In Div 3, Phyllis Telfer won with 73 to beat Fay Gimenez (75 c/b). Phyllis was also the gross winner (107) and Lynne Eke won the putting prize with 30.

Balls were awarded to 77 for the 53 ladies who participated.

Our monthly medal winners were: Div 1 – Sue Scott; Div 2 – Gwynne Thomas and Div 3 – Phyllis Telfer.

Our nine-hole was won by the ever-popular Annie Green who scored 16pts. Nadene Carroll took out the NTP.

Last Friday’s 1st 4/6 par competition attracted 51 ladies. Despite perfect conditions, only two ladies, Janelle Carpenter and Jane Anderson, managed to score better than par.

Janelle blitzed the field with a fantastic score of +5 to win Div 1. Di Sigle scored 0 to take out r/up.

In Div 2, Judy Palich won with -2 c/b followed by Lynne Donsworth -2. Jane Anderson won Div 3 with +1 and Gayle Stanfield was r/up with -3. Our Friday NTP are sponsored by: Flots and Jets, Valley Finance, Peter Campbell Physio, Kitchen to Table, Amie Rose Beauty, Nicholson’s Fine Foods and Yamba Pharmacy. Our winners were: Jo King (x2), Fay Gimenez, Gail Gore-Brown, Fiona Smart, Jennifer Fagan and Sue Skelton.

There were eleven Saturday ladies, including Maddi McKee from Grafton who won with 33pts. Yamba’s Tana Lowe was r/up with 32pts. Great scores girls! Shellee Clare won the NTP.

This Wednesday will be the WGNR 2BBB v Par followed by a Single Stableford round on Friday; however, many of our ladies will be travelling to Casino on Friday to play in the rescheduled WGNR Veterans Day.
