Sue Petty impresses at Grafton

With COVID-19 lockdown causing us to not meet up for our presentations, here is an update on last week’s results.

Our sponsor for the event was Judy McFarlane. We had 54 players contesting the 18 hole Stroke, September Monthly Medal and Captain’s Trophy event.

With the course dry and now some run good results were returned.

Results

Overall winner, with a magnificent 64 nett was Women’s Club President, Sue Petty.

Div 1 winner – Jane Wolfe on 66; r/up – Janette Blair 71 on c/b.

Div 2 winner – our scribe, Shirley Goodger 70; r/up – Chris Danvers 71 on a c/b.

Div 3 winner – Cheryl Creighton with a top round of 66 nett but had to survive a c/b with Gail Knell who received the r/up prize.

Gross winners: Div 1 – Sue Petty 80; Div 2 – Chris Danvers 95 c/b; Div 3 – Lisa Hunt 100.

The OBE going to Noelene Smith 93. Ball run down went to those players with 74 on c/b.

Friday again saw another good field of 54 players hit off in a 18 hole Stableford sponsored by Farmer Lou’s.

Overall winner – Brenda Cooper with 41 points. Brenda has been very consistent of late.

Div 1 winner – Janeen Roberts with 39 from Janette Blair also 39.

Div 2 winner – Norma Carter 38pts from Kerry Harding on 36.

Div 3 winner – Wendy Burcher with 36 points from Jan Pilgrim 35.

NTP’s: 1st – Janette Blair; 6th – Jan Beattie; 10th – Gillian McLachlan and 17th was a draw of cards Beryl Wilks.

Ball rundown you had to have a score of 31 on a c/b to win one.

A field of 14 women played an 18 hole Stableford last Saturday. As the field has been heavily booked due to the men’s competition and COVID time sheet restriction, we women have fitted in nicely with the men who have been most accommodating.

The winner on the day was one of our younger juniors Annalese McKee with a fine 37 points from Shirley Goodger (much much older) on 36.

Nearest the pin went to Kate Thomson.

Well with COVID-19 lockdown (hopefully) lifted on September 11, I’m sure that all of us are eagerly looking forward to our clubhouse opening for one big get together for a cool refreshment and a catch up on all the news.

Happy golfing.

Shirley Goodger
