State play-offs for Maclean four

Last Tuesday June 30 the Regional play-offs started at Urunga.  The Championship Fours were the first to be played and Maclean had a team in the Open Fours consisting of Caley Causley, Fiona Stewart-Butcher, Lee Rae and Rhodana Pedrana.

They played their first game and after fighting back from being a long way down they won this game. They then went onto the next game, which was the final, and played their hearts out to win this game 26-19.

These ladies now go onto the State play-offs which are to be held at South Tamworth Bowling Club at the end of August. We wish them well in their endeavors.

We also had two other teams competing in these play-offs, Lee Rae and Sandra Youlten in the Open Pairs. Unfortunately, they missed out on winning but came runners up.

The other team was Pauline and Ray Ryan in the Mixed Pairs.  While they won one of their three games, they just missed out in the other two. Congratulations to all these players for their high level of bowls played.

Our club would like to congratulate all the other teams who played in these play-offs and wish those who got through to State play-offs, good bowling, and good luck.
