State CWA President to attend Grafton Branch meeting

Grafton Branch held its monthly meeting Friday April 9 with 15 members in attendance and seven apologies were received.

Arrangements have been made for a visit to Grafton CWA, Tuesday April 20 by State President Stephanie Stanhope. Morning tea will be served by our members, followed by a meet and greet of our members. Four CWA long serving members will be introduced and photographed for this special occasion. Arrangements are being made for three CWA members to attend the Anzac Day service in Grafton with a wreath made up with crochet red, blue and white poppies to be laid at the cenotaph.

The 99th AGM will be held at the Bega Showground from Monday to Friday May 3-6. Due to Covid 19-restrictions only one delegate per branch and one observer per branch may attend. Carol Smith was nominated delegate and Lesley McFarlane nominated observer. North Coast Group will be presenting for Health and Research Fund Annual Project for 2021- 2022… still births. Video links are going to be made available. Members are busy preparing to submit cookery items and handicraft items for the Grafton Show which will be held Friday and Saturday April 23-24.

Cookery officer Narelle Saunders has submitted to the Branch that we will be catering Devonshire teas for small wakes and small functions. This was accepted by our Branch and we will be available for anyone wishing to hire this service. Person of contact will be Narelle Saunders. In house cookery was held results for gluten free slices: 1st – June Neilly; 2nd – Janice Wilkinson; 3rd – Narelle Saunders. Next meeting will be held May14 in our Duke Street rooms, with morning tea being served at 9.30am, meeting commencing at 10am, Ladies interesting in joining us will be made welcome. Handicraft mornings are held at the CWA rooms 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 9.30am.
