Stage four work of Gwydir Highway Upgrade complete

Motorists are benefitting from a significant road resurfacing project on the Gwydir Highway at Waterview Heights. Member for Clarence, Chris Gulaptis said the NSW Government provided more than $1.8 million to improve road safety on a four kilometre section of the Gwydir Highway. “The Gwydir Highway is a major route for light and heavy vehicles travelling between Grafton and Glen Innes,” Mr Gulaptis said. “Stage four included road resurfacing and widening a 1.2 kilometre section of the highway between Rogans Bridge Road and Hillview Drive. “There is now only one segment of the four kilometre upgrade remaining. “Clarence Valley Council has completed the work on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services. This included repairing and improving drainage structures and removing vegetation to improve roadside visibility and safety.” Mr Gulaptis thanked the community for their patience and co-operation while this work was carried out. Roads and Maritime is developing plans for stage five of the project.
