South Grafton is holding their first ‘Local Produce Market’ this Saturday, at 46 Through Street, South Grafton.
The markets will be held each Saturday at the Mend and Make Do/Flow Space Gallery precinct from 7am until noon.
The Local Produce Market and Mend and Make Do co-ordinator Ursula Tunks, said that the focus of the markets is to empower our local producers, through offering a regular affordable and inclusive market place.
“All stall holders must be local and all produce/products locally grown or created,” Ms Tunks said.
“Stall holders will be asked to make a minimum donation (fee) of $10 for a 3m by 3m area and ALL of these donations will be directed to The Mend & Make Do Crew Inc’s homelessness projects.
“The $10 fee is the minimum donation – stall holders are welcome to donate more, if they wish to.
“We’ve already secured several stall holders keen to be part of this opportunity to showcase the creative and nurturing talent of our Clarence Valley Community.
“Some of these include: Possum Creek Eggs, The Quirky Bovine, Driftdd – Kara Sutherland Macrame Creations, Colour Mama Tie Dye and quite a list of others that include gorgeous upmarket/upcycled furniture, ukulele makers, wood carvers, garment makers, honey producers, jewellery makers, weavers, buskers, plant growers, condiments and jams plus fruit & veg too.
“Anyone interested in securing a stall at the markets can contact us (The Mend & Make Do Crew Inc’s) via messenger.
“During the markets both The Mend & Make Do Crew and the Flow Space Gallery will be holding classes and workshops in our respective onsite studios.
“Our aim is to create an enjoyable, empowering and eclectic environment in which to spend a Saturday morning.
“Through Street, South Grafton is the Gateway to our unique bohemian and Heritage Listed South Grafton CBD. So why not come to the Markets in the morning, then head into Skinner Street for an old fashioned high quality customer service shopping experience,” she said.
