Thank you to our parents who were able to attend last Tuesday’s P&C Meeting.

Our P&C are now working towards our Fathers’ Day stalls and Market Day which are both held in Term 3.Our Year 3 students have completed NAPLAN last week which brings to an end, a month of formal assessments being implemented at our school. Well done to all of our staff and students on their very positive approach to these assessments.

Congratulations to Eli Whitney who has been selected in the PSSA North Coast Rugby League team to play in the state carnival in Tamworth later this term. This is a fantastic achievement by Eli. We have already had a number of our students chosen at North Coast level and this reflects the very talented students we have attending our wonderful school.

Last week Nicola Longstaff and Meg Amos competed as part of the North Coast PSSA Hockey team at the state PSSA carnival. North Coast were joint state premiers. Congratulations, girls. Meg was selected as part of the PSSA NSW side. This is a fantastic achievement.

On Wednesday, June 9 our school will be holding two Performing Arts Concerts in our Primary Hall to showcase our amazing talented students and staff to our community. The first concert will begin at 9.30am and conclude at 11am and our evening concert will begin at 6pm and conclude at 7.30pm. The concert will include all of our dance troupes, school band, choirs, recorder group, demonstration skipping team and several classes with verse speaking. These items would normally be showcased as part of the Grafton Eisteddfod.

Congratulations to our boy’s cricket team who traveled to Woolgoolga last week and had a strong win against Woolgoolga PS. We batted first and scored 2/189. Woolgoolga then scored 6/56. Our boys will now play Westlawn PS in the third round of the PSSA knockout. Congratulations to our team on their excellent sportsmanship.

Last Wednesday our whole school participated in the National Simultaneous Storytime 2021.

Every class read the book called ‘Give me some space’ by Philip Bunting. Our assemblies had a terrific surprise with 3 staff astronaunts promoting this event. Commanders Heyman, Vickers and Kelly visited to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime. Students enjoyed reading the book or watching real astronaut Dr Shannon Walker read it from the International Space Station!

Good luck to our girls who are participating in a Netball Gala Day being held this week at the Grafton Netball courts. This is an opportunity for a number of our students to participate in an informal competition to promote netball.

Good luck to our girl’s cricket team who are playing Westlawn PS this week at JJ Lawrence fields in the 2nd round of the PSSA knockout competition.
