Well done to all of our staff and students on their very positive approach to these assessments.

Congratulations to Eli Whitney who has been selected in the PSSA North Coast Rugby League team to play in the state carnival in Tamworth later this term. This is a fantastic achievement by Eli. We have already had a number of our students chosen at North Coast level and this reflects the very talented students we have attending our wonderful school.

Last week Nicola Longstaff and Meg Amos competed as part of the North Coast PSSA Hockey team at the state PSSA carnival. North Coast were joint state premiers. Congratulations, girls. Meg was selected as part of the PSSA NSW side. This is a fantastic achievement.

Our boys will now play Westlawn PS in the third round of the PSSA knockout. Congratulations to our team on their excellent sportsmanship.

Last Wednesday our whole school participated in the National Simultaneous Storytime 2021.

Every class read the book called ‘Give me some space’ by Philip Bunting. Our assemblies had a terrific surprise with 3 staff astronaunts promoting this event. Commanders Heyman, Vickers and Kelly visited to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime. Students enjoyed reading the book or watching real astronaut Dr Shannon Walker read it from the International Space Station!

Good luck to our girls who are participating in a Netball Gala Day being held this week at the Grafton Netball courts. This is an opportunity for a number of our students to participate in an informal competition to promote netball.

Good luck to our girl’s cricket team who are playing Westlawn PS this week at JJ Lawrence fields in the 2nd round of the PSSA knockout competition.
