South Grafton PS has had another great week

Last Wednesday our debating team debated against Banora Point PS in the fifth
round of the Premier’s Debating Challenge. The topic of the debate was ‘We
should ban all advertising aimed at kids.’ We were negative team. It was a very
well contested debate and our team presented themselves very articulately and
professionally. Banora Point PS were the victors on the day. We wish them luck
in Round 6.
This week our school will be celebrating National Science Week. Our students
will participate in a number of activities including a watermelon challenge. For
this activity students will be required to estimate the number of rubber bands
needed to burst a large watermelon. We are looking forward to a fun week.
Last week from Mangahigh maths we received confirmation of our top 3 students
from each campus for Terms 1 and 2 this year.
Congratulations to our Primary Campus highest achievers: 1st: Jessica, 2nd:
William, 3rd: Mikinleigh. Congratulations to our Infants Campus highest
achievers: 1st: Zander, 2nd: Hunter, 3rd: Jak. Each of these students received a
certificate and badge from Mangahigh.
