South Grafton PS – Andrew wins the chicken coop

Congratulations to Liam Stanton and Darby Rouse who have being selected in the North Coast PSSA Cricket team. Liam and Darby participated in trials last week in Grafton. Both boys played extremely well. Charlie Rouse also attended these trials and performed very well. The North Coast team will play in the NSW State PSSA Carnival which is being held in Dubbo in Week 1 Term 4.

Congratulations to all our students who participated in the Football (Soccer) Mini Roos Gala Day held last Tuesday at Rushforth Park. This was a great opportunity for students who don’t play regular soccer. Students were able to participate in a number of small field games and learn a variety of new skills. The gala day was organised by Annelise Rosnell (Mrs Rosnell’s daughter) representing Northern NSW Football Mini Roos.

3DR, 4JR and 4LG are holding their class Parent/Teachers interviews this week. The rest of the school K-6 will be holding Parent/Teachers interviews on Monday and Tuesday March 22-23 (Week 9) to discuss the progress of your child.

This week is NSW Vegetable Week and our school is celebrating this activity. We will be participating in the biggest Vegie Crunch on Thursday March 18 on our primary campus and Friday March 19 on our infant’s campus. On both these dates we will have all of our students eating a piece of fruit or vegetable simultaneously. Our thanks also to Coles South Grafton and Farmer Lou’s for their donations to support our students and our school.

The Infants Easter Hat Parade will be held on Thursday April 1 commencing at 10am sharp and concluding at 11am. Due to NSW DEC COVID-19 restrictions we are limited to welcoming two (2) parents/carers per student to attend. Our P&C will be drawing the Easter raffle following the conclusion of the parade.

The Primary Campus in conjunction with the Primary Rewards Day will be holding a small Easter Hat Parade on Thursday April 1. Student participation is optional, and all hats must be made at home. Due to the informality of this parade, it will not be open to our community to attend. At the conclusion of this parade our P&C will draw the Primary Easter raffle.
