Sliding into further fun at Clarence Regional Aquatic Centre

As the formal opening of the Clarence Regional Aquatic Centre approaches, Clarence Valley Council (CVC) have announced they have received a $1.6 million grant from the Federal Government through the Department of Infrastructure’s Growing Regions Program to enable them to deliver two recreational waterslides to the complex by the end of 2025.

During Council’s Ordinary Meeting on February 20, Councillors Allison Whaites, Karen Toms, and Debrah Novak, took the opportunity to acknowledge the amazing work undertaken by Hines Construction and Council staff during the construction of the Clarence Regional Aquatic Centre, and revealed 411 people were welcomed through the front gates on February 15 when the 50m Grafton Olympic Pool was opened to the public.

Another 1000 visited the Clarence Regional Aquatic Centre over the following weekend.

“It’s an amazing facility,” Cr Novak said.

“We should all take pride in the fact that we have something so relevant and state-of-the-art (in the Clarence Valley).

Cr Novak also acknowledged previous councillors who “fought really hard for this facility” to be delivered to the local community.

The forthcoming addition of the two recreational waterslides and supporting infrastructure, which will complete the Clarence Regional Aquatic Centre masterplan.
