Showgirls encouraged to nominate for 2021 Grafton Show

You don’t have to live on a property or come from a farming background.

You don’t need to be an expert on livestock either.

All you need is passion to represent the Clarence Valley community, be a local, have a good character, and be prepared to make new friends and have a lot of fun.

Being a Grafton Showgirl, is one of the most iconic and recognisable roles of the annual Grafton Show, and with less than five weeks until the event arrives, local girls and young women are being encouraged to nominate and experience the thrill of a lifetime.

Nominations for 2021 Grafton Showgirl are open to women aged between 18 and 24, 2021 Junior Grafton Showgirl is open to girls aged between 14 and 17, and 2021 Junior Miss Grafton Showgirl is open to young girls aged between 9 and 13.

Clarence Valley boys are also being encouraged to nominate for Man of the Land, with entries currently open for those aged between 14 and 17.

Coordinator Carmell Sanne is hopeful of welcoming more women, girls and boys to nominate before nominations close on April 3.

“It’s a great community event to be a part of and I would really like to see more women, young girls and young men become involved and have the opportunity to represent the Clarence Valley community,” she said.

Grafton Showgirls have the tremendous opportunity of being recognised as ambassadors for their rural community.

The young woman who will be revealed as the winner of the 2021 Grafton Showgirl title will have the opportunity to participate in an all-expenses paid personal development course, prior to competing against other Zone 1 showgirls from the Northern Rivers region.

The winner of Zone 1 will then travel to Sydney and compete against the winners from other NSW zones at the 2021 Royal Easter Show.

Anyone interested in nominating is encouraged to contact Ms Sanne on 66 427 309.
