With the numbers of both Junior and Senior Maclean Showgirl entrants lining up this year, the 2019 Maclean Show is shaping up to be a real show stopper.

The committee have pulled out all stops to make up for last year’s ‘no show’ after the show was cancelled, due to a lot of the showgrounds infrastructure being destroyed in a freak storm in January.

On Saturday evening, around 95 people turned out for the Showgirl presentation dinner which was held at the Maclean Services Club.

This year there are a total of nine Maclean Showgirl contenders (4 junior Showgirls and 5 Senior Showgirls).

Three guest judges; Cherie Barnsley, who was representing Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan, State Member for Clarence Chris Gulaptis and Madeline McDonald interviewed this year’s entrants, throughout the day leading up to the presentation dinner, where each girl was given a chance to address the crowd.

This was the girl’s final chance to impress the judges prior to the announcement of the winners, which will take place at the Maclean Show’s official opening on Wednesday evening (May 8), just prior to the Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley’s live concert.
