Shoe Box Collection successful for 2017

Once again we have had a most successful collection, albeit under unusual circumstances, with a shorter gathering time than usual. However, a new venue was located, a new system established, and boxes went out, and with the excellent newspaper coverage of Clarence Valley Independent, it all came together really well, and our 557 boxes are now safely in Brisbane – an excellent result, involving our Churches, some schools and the general community from Lawrence, through Yamba, Iluka, and Maclean. We thank Riverland Travel, ACE Store in Maclean, and the Presbyterian Op Shop, our Yamba Depot, for partnering with us – and of course, the Baptist Church in Townsend for becoming our new Official Depot. And of course, our very grateful thanks to every individual person who gets involved, making this such a great success for the whole community effort that it is. We make new friends every year and our phone and address books are growing! Thank you all so much for your involvement and we praise the Lord for, as always, taking the little that we can do and by His blessing, making a result that always astounds us, and miracles happen all over the world as a result of our “little boxes”. The next meeting of the Combined Churches Fellowship “CAMEO” group will be our Christmas celebration on Wednesday December 6, at 11am in the Uniting Church, Maclean, for a short meeting, shared lunch and afternoon of entertainment, in which every group will take part. So, “Come and Meet Each Other”- come, share, enjoy, and celebrate! You are very welcome – NOT JUST FOR LADIES! Glenys Irons
