Welcome to the Clarence Valley Independent’s special feature in acknowledgement of the 2025 NSW Seniors Festival which is set to take place between March 3-16.
A popular annual event, it is the largest celebration for people aged 60 and above in the Southern Hemisphere.
This year, the theme of the event is ‘time to shine’.
Celebrating the wisdom, age, and experience of senior members of our community, the 2025 NSW Seniors Festival offers a diverse range of activities aimed at promoting local engagement and wellbeing, exploring new interests, and connecting with established support services across our region.
As we celebrate the 2025 NSW Seniors Festival in the Clarence Valley, we also embrace the opportunity to shine a light on some of our most prominent senior residents and their extensive contributions as we share their stories with you.
Presented by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), the 2025 NSW Seniors Festival incorporates hundreds of free and low-cost events and activities across the state, including, music, arts, recreation, sport, technology, health and nutrition, mental stimulation and more.
