Setting the record straight

Ed,

The CV Independent newspaper printed a front page article on Wednesday 30 January about my involvement with Our Healthy Clarence.

The article said that I was a driving force behind the creation of Our Healthy Clarence. This is not true, the driving forces were the community members who organised the first public meetings and then the professionals from the Local Health District, Richard Buss and Vahid Saberi from the Primary Health Network who took up the challenge and formed Our Healthy Clarence steering committee, however I was an inaugural member of this committee.  Community activism is important and I applaud the community members who stood up and said ‘enough is enough’.
