Daniel Anderson and Clara Samms

Secondary Schools Student Leadership Program at Parliament House

On 12th April, Captain’s Daniel Anderson, Clara Samms and I flew from Ballina to Sydney to arrive for registration at NSW Parliament House, Macquarie Street.  This was followed by an introduction to the NSW Parliament by Parliamentary Education and address by Members of the Parliament. Question time followed with generous discussion time allotted to each answer by various Members. Members then took this opportunity to meet with students from their communities. A visit to the public galleries of the Legislative Council Chambers was then undertaken. This was a real treat as debate was lively in the Chambers. The afternoon saw all treated to a guided tour of Government House and a meet and greet with His Excellency, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Re’d) Governor of New South Wales.
