Lynne Mowbray | A search was conducted at the Romiaka Channel bridge site on Monday, in an effort to locate a possible historic Aboriginal burial site. The recent discovery of Aboriginal middens in the area has prompted further investigation. Yaegl Elder Uncle Ron Heron was on site during Monday’s search of the area, using Ground Penetrating Radar. Uncle Ron said that it is quite common for burial grounds to be located at midden sites. No other information regarding Monday’s search was available at the time of going to print.
