SafeWork event coming to Maclean

SafeWork NSW is coming to Maclean to provide free advice to local businesses. SafeWork NSW will hold a Safer Communities, Safer Towns event on Thursday, 26 May which includes a Maclean Chamber of Commerce breakfast, visit to Townsend industrial estate and information stand where they will be able to help business owners, managers, workers and the community be safer. SafeWork NSW Coffs Harbour District Coordinator, Bruce Coffee said SafeWork would help local small businesses tailor health and safety solutions to their workplaces during the visit. “This is an excellent opportunity for local small businesses to receive expert advice from SafeWork NSW on how to manage their key safety challenges,” Mr Coffee said. “This includes work health and safety and workers compensation obligations, injury management and recover at work as well as working in the heat safety, working with hazardous chemicals and safe asbestos removal. “We will also be able to provide information on the Get Healthy at Work program, a NSW Government program which aims to improve the health of workers by giving businesses the tools to address healthy eating, weight, physical activity, smoking and alcohol consumption. Businesses that speak with SafeWork during the visit may be eligible for a rebate of up to $500 through SafeWork’s Small Business Rebate Program which can be used to purchase and install safety improvements. SafeWork NSW will be at the Maclean Chamber of Commerce Breakfast at Maclean Hotel, 28 River Street Maclean from 7.30am-9am, Townsend industrial estate from 9.30am-11.30am and outside Maclean Hotel from 12.30pm-2pm.
