Rotary’s Light up Yamba competition
Lynne Mowbray
The Rotary Club of Yamba is running a Christmas Light up Yamba display competition in Yamba, this year.
The competition encourages residents to decorate and light up their homes and is open to anyone who lives within the 2464 postcode.
Rotary Club of Yamba president Sandy Hovey said that she hopes the competition will encourage the community to get excited about Christmas.
“We hope that residents will get involved and help to spread a bit of Christmas cheer within the community,” Ms Hovey said.
“There is nothing nicer than to drive around the streets in the lead up to Christmas and check out the Christmas light displays,” she said.
The competition will run from December 1 and finish at 5pm on December 15, with cash prizes of 1st $300, 2nd $150 and an encouragement award of $50 for 3rd place.
The winners will be chosen by the community, who are encouraged to vote for their favourite Christmas light display.
Voting entry forms can be found as of next week, in the CV Independent and everyone who enters will go in the draw for 10 FREE tickets in the Rotary Club’s chocolate wheel at the Yamba Twilight Markets, on 1 January, 2018.
Entry forms can be emailed to yamba.rotary@gmail.com or posted to Light Up Yamba competition, 18 Witonga Drive, Yamba, 2464.
