Robbers target BWS Yamba

BWS in Treelands Drive, Yamba were forced to close their doors early on Sunday evening after two offenders allegedly stole items and became aggressive towards staff members.

A statement received from a NSW Police spokesperson before going to print on Monday, stated:

“Shortly after 6pm yesterday (Sunday 1 March 2020), two men attended a store on Treelands Drive, Yamba, and allegedly stole several items.

Police will allege the pair became aggressive with staff before fleeing the scene.

Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District were called and conducted extensive searches of the nearby area.

A 17-year-old male was arrested a short distance away and arrested.

He was charged with six offences including robbery in company and common assault. He was refused bail to face a children’s court today.

Inquiries are continuing to locate the second male.”
