Riders embark on the annual ‘Ride for Sick Kids’
Twenty three (23) determined riders are preparing to take on 538km as part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Northern NSW Ride for Sick Kids (RFSK) 2018, in the hope to raise over $200,000 to help families with a sick or injured child.
Driven by a passion for RMHC and cycling, riders will start at McDonald’s Grafton, on Tuesday September 11, and travel south, navigating terrain on the Mid-North coast of NSW over five days to raise vital funds for the charity. The ride will finish on Saturday September 15 with the riders being welcomed back to Newcastle with a community event.
Ronald McDonald Houses provide a home away from home for families, allowing them to stay close to their sick or injured child while they receive treatment in nearby hospitals. Last year, Ronald McDonald Houses across northern New South Wales have provided over 15,900 nights of accommodation to more than 690 families.
Since the inaugural ride across Northern NSW in 2005, almost 8,000 kilometres have been travelled, raising vital funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
