Time is running out to register your event for the 2022 Plunge Arts and Culture Festival.
The deadline for inclusion in the festival program is 3 January 2022.
Clarence Valley’s premier arts and culture festival, the inaugural Plunge in 2013 had 41 registered events; by 2020 that number had grown to 170.
Clarence Valleys Councils Manager Cultural, Community and Industry Justin Putze said the next festival, to be held in April 2022, is set to build on the success of previous years and celebrate the creative community of the Clarence Valley.
“The Plunge festival program is an opportunity for arts and cultural businesses, community groups and organisations to take advantage of free promotion provided by Clarence Valley Council,” Mr Putze said.
Over the years, Plunge has helped local organisations grow and establish themselves as successful businesses, contributing to the cultural character of the Clarence Valley.
Entries can be submitted on the Clarence Valley Council website at: www.clarence.nsw.gov.au/plunge
BACKGROUND: Plunge Arts and Culture Festival is a month-long ‘insider’s guide’ to cultural events held in the Clarence Valley.
It is a collection of diverse cultural experiences and events, including performances, exhibitions, open studios, workshops, youth activities and local markets in the Clarence Valley.
The objective of Plunge is to support local arts and cultural organisations under one festival umbrella.
Through Plunge, Clarence Valley Council encourages the wider community and visitors to immerse themselves in arts and cultural events being produced by individuals, local community groups and organisations.
As a result of this project, the Plunge Arts and Culture Festival has made arts and culture more accessible to a wider demographic and supported the development of the local cultural economy.
