REC Ya Shorts Youth Film Festival

cvreview-imagesc   On Sunday, October 16 there will be a free screening of the 2016 REC Ya Shorts Youth Film Festival at the Saraton Theatre from 6pm. Young filmmakers from around the region have been selected as finalists to have their new short films screened in front of a live audience with an awards presentation to follow. “Young Clarence Valley filmmakers have put in a particularly strong showing at this year’s festival, creating some incredible original, provocative, and entertaining short films. It will be great to see the community come and celebrate the next generation of local filmmakers at the Saraton Theatre,” explains REC Ya Shorts Youth Film Festival Director, Dave Horsley. REC Ya Shorts Youth Film Festival’s Grafton screening is the culmination of over 40 in-school filmmaking workshops hosted by Screenwave and Headspace Coffs Harbour across Bellingen Shire, Clarence Valley, Kempsey Shire, Nambucca Valley, Kyogle, and Coffs Harbour. The screening is free for the community to attend thanks to the support of the Clarence Valley Council and the Saraton Theatre. To RSVP for the event, audiences can visit the Screenwave Facebook page and follow the Eventbrite link in the Grafton screening event or through the “Free Screening Tour” link on www.recyashorts.com.au. REC Ya Shorts Youth Film Festival is presented by Screenwave and Headspace Coffs Harbour and supported by a number of festival sponsors. For more information visit www.recyashorts.com.au.
