Rallying to the Lawrence Museum

The Clarence Valley Historic and Enthusiasts Motorcycle Club will gather at the Lawrence Museum on August 27 as part of their annual rally.

The club encompasses vintage and modern bikes dating from the 1920s and 1930s, through to the 2000s.

Club spokesperson Terry Ryan said the bikes will be displayed at the Lawrence Museum and judged in different categories including pre-1940s, 1940s-1960s 1961-1970, 1971-1980, and 1981-1992.

Modern bikes will also be on display but will not be eligible for judging.

The entourage is expected to arrive at midday following a ride around Wooli, Tucabia and Ulmarra.

Vice President of the Lawrence Museum Roz Jones said it is exciting for the venue to host the event, with local volunteers and members of the Lawrence Historical Society looking forward to the weekend.

“It will be a carnival atmosphere, with refreshments available, side stalls, and a blacksmith will be working the forge,” she said.

“It’s a great opportunity for the community to come and see a great collection of historic bikes, and also the museum collection too.”

Visitors will be welcome between 1-4pm.

Admission is $5 per person.
