PresidentMaureen extended a friendly welcome to the 23 members attending our most recent meeting, as well as to a potential new member Alick Locke. Maureen also offered that our thoughts and prayers should be with Connie de Dassel at this time with the sudden passing of her son Paul.
In the absence of John Moore, Ken Muller reported that the next day-trip would be held on May 2. Destinations will be New Italy and the Pimlico museum. Bevan Sommerlad added that there were many interesting and diverse items in the museum’s collection. Morning tea at New Italy will be at the individual’s expense, and the museum is $15, covering both lunch and entry. Transport will depart Wherrett Park at 9.30am, returning to Maclean approximately 3.30pm. The deferred Tullymorgan Ostrich & Emu Farm visit will be placed on the tours program, perhaps in June.
Our next meeting will be at 10am on May 14, it is a general meeting with a guest speaker and morning tea.
In the absence of our guest speaker at the April meeting, members Ian Imrie, Betty Irons, Nugget Wiblen and Geoff Thame spoke of their own and family sporting highlights.
President Maureen thanked Betty, Ian, Nugget and Geoff for taking up the sporting theme at short notice.
