Probus Club of Maclean

President Maureen thanked the members for their confidence, pointing out that it was her intention to encourage all members to have an active and healthy approach to the fun and fellowship of their Probus membership. Maureen asked that members bring along for the next meeting, some ‘sporting’ item.

The members in attendance at the meeting for the lunch were very complementary about the meal and the exuberant outing.

Our guest speaker was Anne-Marie Stevens from BCU, the local financial institution which acts as Maclean Probus’ bank. Anne-Marie spoke briefly about a possible merger with a West Australian mutual financial institution and about the various accounts which members might avail themselves of. She also reminded members of the scams which are being tried and of the best way to avoid these, and the protection which is provided through membership of BCU. Ken thanked Anne-Marie for her presentation presenting her with a small token of appreciation and inviting her to join with us at the luncheon.

The following are the office bearers for 2019: president – Maureen Muller; vice president – Ian Imrie; secretary – Ian Imrie; treasurer – Betty Irons.

Our next general meeting will have a guest speaker and will include morning tea at 10am, April 9.

Members on door duty for April 9 at 10am are Sandra Byrne and Marlene Cook.
