Private Hospital DA approved

Lynne Mowbray Grafton’s new private hospital will now go ahead, after the Development Application [DA] for the project was approved on Wednesday last week. Dr Sam Martin said that he bought the land on the corner of Queen and Arthur Street, Grafton – the former Albion Hotel site back in 2014. “We didn’t really get onto the idea of a private hospital until probably 2016,” Dr Martin said. “We put the DA in around April last year and it was approved on 24 January. “It will be a staged process, so we’re looking at a specialist centre initially, that’s the first milestone and then a private hospital after that. “It was a major milestone having it approved. “We hope to start work on the first stage this year and have it finished next year. “It’s very exciting for the community and special thanks to the Clarence Valley Council for their support,” he said
