Presentation to Bev Ensbey… winner of NSW Ladies Golf Goodwill Plate
Last Wednesday Maclean lady golfers were very excited to have the official presentation to Bev Ensbey for winning the NSW Ladies Golf Goodwill Plate for 2016. The prize was forwarded to our Club and captain Helen presented it to Bev on behalf of NSW Golf.
A letter forwarded with the prize explained that Bev had beaten 2,658 players throughout the State that represented 69 NSW golf clubs. Bev carded an 8 under score of 66 Nett on the day to win by one shot. This is an amazing result for Bev and Maclean Ladies Golf when a player from such a small club can compete and win against thousands of players and bigger clubs throughout the state.
Well done Bev we are very proud of your efforts.
On Wednesday we played a Single Stableford with our sponsor for the day being Maclean Variety Meats and what great trophies they were. We were supplied with fantastic meat trays for the winners and runners-up and also one for the raffle. They looked so good that some of the ladies were off to the shop to buy meat for dinner so thanks to Maclean Variety Meats for their generous sponsorship.
Our winners in Div 1 Pat Harris and Pauline Ryan both came in with a great 37 points with Pat taking the win on a countback. A few weeks ago these two ladies also came in both carding 36 points and Pauline won on a count back. In Div 2 Cathie Parker was the winner with Edith Piddington collecting the runner-up prize. NTP’s – Div 1 Kim Wiblen; Div 2 – Bev Ensbey; Overall – 7th Sheree Forsythe and 11th Sandra Jenkins.
As the saying goes winners are grinners, Pauline won a nice meat tray for being the Div 1 runner-up and then won the raffle to take home a second meat tray.
Today Wednesday 1st March we are playing a Canadian Foursomes which is the first round of our annual Eye Care Plus Challenge. We are happy to see that our 9 Hole players are going to join in with us this week and everyone looks forward to getting to play with these ladies.
