Post card perfect

Ed, Congratulation to the Clarence community for yet another fantastic Jacaranda festival. I know there are many who work behind the scenes to pull this event off including the council staff who maintain the trees and parks. I also want to say how beautiful the two centre piece gardens looked in the main street with all the mixed colours. Grafton was once called the ‘City Of Trees’ and looking at all the visitors over the past few weeks who were all looking skywards with their cameras it certainly lived up to its namesake. I myself went into Grafton at 6am one morning to do a Jacaranda photo essay which has now been shared over 200 times on Facebook. The other great thing too was ABC TV was also filming here during early Jacaranda and as luck would have it the weather Gods were on our side with post card perfect days. The grand float parade is an extraordinary show of community spirit and is without any doubts the largest display of community pride on the North Coast. Well done everyone for creating such great purple infused memories! Debrah Novak – Chairperson, Clarence Valley Cultural Committee
