Port Authority is calling for grassroots organisations in the Yamba port community to get their applications in for its Community Grants program offering up to $15,000, before applications close on 20 May 2025.
Port Authority Acting Chief Executive Officer John McKenna said the program reinforces Port Authority’s deep connection with its surrounding communities.
“Our ports are strongly linked to our communities, and our Community Grants program gives us an opportunity to give back to important local initiatives,” he said.
“We are proud to play an active role within our port communities.”
Grant applications will open until 20 May and will be assessed by a panel including locally-based Port Authority employees. Successful recipients will be announced in July.
Grants will be awarded for projects that strengthen community, promote sustainability or improve wellbeing for the residents of the surrounding port area.
Harbour Master of Yamba Captain Vikas Bangia said this was an important time to support the Northern Rivers community.
“The people of Yamba have always been a tight-knit group that have supported one another in challenging times,” he said.
“As the region recovers from the recent flooding, we want to be able to support projects and initiatives that can help the community come together and have a positive impact.”
