If you knew that the number 1 cause of pain and suffering in dogs and cats was entirely preventable, would you do something about it? Of course you would. Many people are surprised to learn that dental disease is the most common form of disease seen in our companion animals, and that it is not only common, but very painful. Poor oral hygiene not only leads to painful mouths, rotting teeth, pus eating away at the bone and abscessed jaws, but can also contribute to heart disease, kidney disease and more. The health of the mouth really is an indicator of the health of the rest of the body. Fortunately, good oral hygiene is very achievable for our furry friends – it takes some observation and home care, but also a skilled veterinary team. The team at Angourie Road Veterinary Surgery – lead by Dr Karen Teasdale and Dr Mel Robertson – have a passion for your pet’s oral health. They believe that no pet deserves to live with a painful mouth, and each August, they participate in National Pet Dental Health Month. So come on in for an oral health assessment and experience the friendly, professional and warm service that Angourie Road Veterinary Surgery has won awards for…. and together, let’s get your pet healthy, happy and pain free!-
