On Thursday the 23rd of June Pacific Valley Christian School held its annual athletics carnival at Barnier Park, Junction Hill. The day was attended by an enthusiastic student and parent body, with additional events added to an already full program. The program began with the throwing events of Javelin, Discus and Shotput along with Long Jump. Several races followed beginning with the 50 metre dash events giving the younger students a chance to gain confidence leading into the day’s running events. These events featured several close races and also identified a number of new students who are very capable runners. The program continued with all students demonstrating athletic prowess, competing to the best of their ability. The program finished with the 100 metre running event capping off a highly enjoyable day. Special thanks to all parents, friends and staff who assisted with various officiating and logistical roles. All students who have qualified for the CSSA Zone Athletics Carnival, to be held in Coffs Harbour this year, will be notified by Wednesday the 29th of June.
