Over 90’s club thriving

A record-breaking 32 residents are now members of Mareeba Aged Care’s Over 90’s Club. The select group has four members at the residential care facility who are at least 100 years of age.

Each year Mareeba Aged Care in Maclean loves to recognise its residents who have reached the significant milestone with presentations, certificates and a bit of a ‘shindig’.

“No matter what your age life is for living to the full”, said Mareeba Aged Care Director of Nursing Rachel Bennett.

“You could say 90 is the new 70 at Mareeba!  We believe age should not be a barrier to the best environment to enhance well-being. It’s tremendous our Over 90’s are super active in our lifestyle programs and social activities.” said Ms Bennett.

Mareeba Aged Care places a high emphasis on socialisation whilst acknowledging each resident for their achievements. The organisation’s programs are recognised for providing residents with a feeling of social wellbeing and re-connection with their community.
