Osprey RSL Day Club…. what a meal

Good morning. I am very pleased to say that I remembered it was Monday today and I am not scrambling to meet my deadline like last week. Thank you to my lovely editor who has guided me on many occasions over the years as I have strived to master this modern technology. This time he gave me 30 minutes grace. Good man.

Now, before I go any further, I have to say a huge “thank you” to the chef at the Yamba Bowling Club for the fabulous lunch we shared last Friday. It was without a doubt the best meal ever, and every single person enjoyed it. Whilst I was at the front desk expressing our gratitude and seeking the name of the meal, the lass told me she had already received a call from one of our members applauding the chef. How nice is that? It was a variation on a Vietnamese salad, on crispy noodles, with sliced pork…. now wait for it…. topped with a large king prawn! The dressing was to die for; and no, I didn’t manage to get the recipe.

I have to say that the staff at the Club make us so welcome and nobody more than Nick. This wonderful man now joins our exercise class each week. He bends, stretches, manages 15 squats, groans and grins with the rest of us, and then flees the room before the pelvic floor exercises. Thanks for your participation, Nick. You are a delight. And I promise I won’t put you in Lycra.

I do have a thought for the week to share. Hope you like it.

One small POSITIVE thought in the morning can CHANGE your whole day.

Just a little call out to the men in our community who now find they have time on their hands, and would like to meet new friends and join our club as either a member or a volunteer. We all have so much to give and share; everyone has a special talent; everyone has a need for fun and friendship, and we all have the potential to make our lives the very best they can be. Please come along, the boys on “the table of knowledge” will welcome you with open arms. Ring Bev for details 0428 117 959.

That’s all folks.
