Osprey RSL Day Club

It was another fun filled Friday which included a ride in the new Bowlo bus. We apologise for running a wee bit late on the pick-ups, but Paul had to familiarise himself with the bus and make sure that he didn’t hit the EJECT button by mistake during transit!

As I am going away for a week or two, I asked my friend Pat De Bomford to please come along to Osprey and learn the ropes and fill in for me in my absence. I knew Pat would be ideal as she has a wealth of experience to share. Pat was a nurse for many years specialising in occupational therapy in aged care and there used her exceptional craft skills to the best possible advantage. Some of you will remember that Pat came to Osprey a few years ago and taught us how to make beautiful paper flowers. You will all be pleased to know that Pat enjoyed her day so much she has decided to become a permanent fixture. “Sign me up” she said at the close of day. So welcome to the fold Pat, I know you will relish the roll of volunteer and will soon think of all the members as “family”.

It was wonderful to see Pauline back again and looking so sprightly, healthy and glamorous. Thanks for being my Euchre partner; as you probably noticed, I need all the help I can get. I will learn to score correctly eventually.

Despite the fact we were several helpers down everything went like clockwork. Poor Beryl called in sick at the last minute with this wretched flu that has been lurking around town. Hope you are feeling better Beryl are back on deck next week; inquiries to Leanne Christie on 0413 101 518.
