Osprey RSL Day Club

Hi everybody. My apologies for not making the deadline for print last week but sometimes things happen and the very best of intentions are thwarted. It was a very busy week for me with visitors and those dreaded doctor appointments! I think the only reason we retire is so that we can fit in doctor visits, x-rays, and the wretched dentist! Ouch. That’s next.

Anyway, I am here now and so happy to report that last Friday was most enjoyable indeed. To see Diane, walk into the room after her ups and downs, was just wonderful. We all hope you continue to make good progress; one day at a time my friend, and with due care. I love the way all members encourage and support one another during illness or crisis; truly family. We also hope that Shirley is back with us again soon after her hip operation. Everyone is getting new bits “n” pieces; it’s just like going to the garage and upgrading the car. I think I could do with a new motor after my day in the garden!

Christmas is fast approaching so there are many preparations going on behind the scenes to ensure everything goes off without a hitch. I have placed an ad for a “sexy Santa with a sensational sense of humour, and sturdy knees” so that we can sit on his knee and be suitably entertained as we receive our gifts.

Edward won the wine, complete with a straw. Eileen won pick-a-box and received a ladies’ watch. David G and Lyn O chose a free day at Osprey. Oh! And I won a tin of beetroot at Bingo! Just thought you’d like to know.

That’s all folks.
