On behalf of the Coastal Emu

Ed,

On behalf of the Lions Club of Clarence- Environmental, I wish to thank the community for their amazing support for the “Emu Campaign”. The speed limit on Brooms Head Rd went to 80 kph, patches (signs painted on the road saying “Emu Zone” ) were installed and soon there will be flashing lights.

Last year you the community raised more than $8,500 for the endangered coastal emu. And much of that money was spent on those painted signs. So, every time you drive along Brooms Head Road you can say “I/We played an important part in that”.

It’s amazing what a community can achieve when working together.

Recent comments from locals:

“It’s so much quieter living in Taloumbi now. It’s so good”.

“We don’t see as much wildlife roadkill now the speed limit has been reduced”.

“Its so much more enjoyable driving Brooms Head Rd”

Focusing on the endangered Coastal Emu has meant all the local wildlife has a chance to live longer.

Thank you again for your continuing support.
