Old Boys welcome Luke Douglas “back home”

Lower Clarence Old Boys has been established to assist the Lower Clarence Magpies with fundraising, recruitment of players and most importantly to encourage all the players from all teams to become “the best they can be” whilst enjoying their rugby league and making lifelong friends.

The club has been very fortunate to have Luke Douglas (who needs no introduction to anyone in the rugby league world) as their head coach. Luke’s knowledge of the game and his respect within the rugby league world is second to none.

Luke has moved back to Yamba with his wife and two children, back home where his career started.

The Old Boys are very confident that under the leadership of Luke and his support staff, the Magpies will once again become a force to be reckoned with at all levels within the competition.

The Old Boys would like to encourage all present and past supporters to get behind the men’s, women’s and junior teams.

They will be conducting a special ‘Draw’ on Sunday July 10 at the Yamba Golf Club.

Limited to 200 tickets, at $100 per ticket, elimination draws will commence at 1pm for an eventual prize of $10,000.

The afternoon will be packed full of entertainment and activity, with numerous other prizes. There will also be an auction of NRL memorabilia.

MC for the afternoon is Steve (Chimes) Gillies and organisers have enticed NRL celebrities to attend.

Ticketed tables can partake in ‘nibblies’ and ticket holders will each receive five complimentary schooners.
