Nothing wrong with Yamba lady golf numbers

Yamba ladies golf competitions are still being supported by large numbers of ladies each week.

Wednesday, we had 65 players who participated in our Single Stableford format.

Balls were awarded to 34pts c/b.

Div 1 winner was Helen Collins (38pts c/b) with Lee Daley (38pts) hot on her heels as r/up.

Div 2 winner was Jill L. Brown (36pts c/b) who is continuing to post some impressive results lately; r/up was Gail Scobie who also came home with 36pts.

In Div 3, the winner was Phyllis Telfer (36pts); r/up was awarded to Prue Leggoe (35pts). Great scores, ladies!

In Wednesday’s nine-hole competition, there were 12 ladies who participated. Thelma Weston came in with an enviable 21pts and took out the winner’s prize.

We had some impressive rounds played by the 51 ladies who participated in last Friday’s Single Par 4/6 event. With scores ranging from +5 to -10, balls were awarded to -2 c/b. Congratulations are extended to all of our prize winners, but special mention must go to ‘newbies’, Jackie Penfold and Lynne Eke, on their impressive scores, coming in winner and runner up in their division. Well done!

Div 1 winner was Sandra Wallace who scored an impressive +5 which was the best score on the day; r/up was Gail Gore-Brown +4. Carrie Aitken was a clear winner in Div 2 with +4 followed by Penny Cope who was awarded r/up (+1). Jackie Penfold won the Div 3 prize with +2 followed by Lynne Eke on -1.

Eight ladies hit off last Saturday in pleasant, mostly sunny conditions until the rain arrived on the 18th hole. Kathy Parker played consistent golf and came in as winner with a great score of 35pts.

We were thrilled to have Jeannie Doolan back with us, especially considering she was runner up on the day with 33pts. Well done ladies!

This week’s formats are Stroke for Wednesday’s monthly medal followed by Single Stableford on Friday.

Happy golfing!
