Ed,
Is Council land for sale? It has caused me great angst & distress to see Yamba’s Wooli Street Hall & Library back on Councils hit list. Why? It makes absolutely no economic sense as CVC has proven time & again its failure to project manage to budget. Their blase attitude with community money & resources, in my opinion, needs scrutiny, transparency & greater accountability.
I have been told that a number of once owned community assets have been sold of by CVC only to have them needed later on, whereby CVC (meaning us) have had to lease & maintain them at a cost far greater than their sale.
I will follow up on this & let the community know my findings.
1 would encourage all residents to write and tell CVC once & for all to remove any notion of selling this rare & vital historic community owned land in Yamba – No if’s, No buts.
Wooli Street Hall & Library = NOT for sale.
Use your vote in next months election to support those candidates that echo this ideal.
