Nightingale and Scott do it again

The 2021 Yamba Ladies Foursomes Championships, played over 27 holes, were contested last Wednesday September 22 by 35 pairs.

Once again, the formidable partnership of Darrie Nightingale and Suzanne Scott prevailed, winning the 27-hole Gross Champions title for the third consecutive year with a score of 137. Another successful partnership which won in 2020, Sandra Wallace and Meg Kulmar, won Div 1 Nett again this year with a score of 116.25.

Other results in Div 1 included Ann Groom and Val Pate who combined well to take out Gross runners up (139) as well as Carrie Aitken and Melissa Rothfield who were the Nett runners up (121.25).

The seasoned partnership of Glen Czarnota and Judy Palich was Div 2 Gross Champions with their score of 160. Robyn Brockwell and Nadene Carroll were their closest rivals, scoring 167. The Nett winners in Div 2 were Phyllis Telfer and Kay Caller (119.25) while Gail Scobie and Shellee Clare were the Nett runners up (124.25).

Congratulations are extended to all winners. Conditions on the day were very difficult with the gusty conditions causing havoc for even the most experienced players in the field.
