New social housing units imminent in South Grafton

South Grafton will benefit from two new social housing units in South Grafton following the sale of the NSW Government-owned ‘Sirius’ building in Sydney, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis has announced.

“The recent NSW Budget had a particular focus on boosting social housing stocks in regional NSW, including the Clarence Valley, and this is a case of already delivering the first instalment on that commitment. There is more to come,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“Not everybody can buy a home, but everybody deserves a home and that is what this is all about.

“It really demonstrates the benefits for regional New South Wales of having the Nationals at the table in Government,” Mr Gulaptis said.

The proceeds of the sale of the Sirius building are funding the construction of 338 new social housing dwellings throughout NSW, with a total of $150 million is being injected directly into modern social housing for around 630 people.
