Motorists reminded of width restriction on McFarlane Bridge
Roads and Maritime Services reminds road users the McFarlane Bridge across the Clarence River at Maclean has a width limit of 3.2 metres while work is being carried out to restore the historic structure.
Work is being carried out to strengthen the bridge which was built in 1906.
Temporary work materials may be placed along the bridge and wide vehicles are being cautioned to check their width before crossing.
Vehicles wider than 3.2 metres should use an alternate route to access the communities of Maclean, Woodford Island and Lawrence when travelling between Maclean and Grafton.
Work is expected to be complete by the end of June, weather permitting at which time the width limit will return to 4.2 metres.
Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience during this important restoration project.
